The source lists 60#, 80#, 100#, 120#, 220#, 300#, 400#, 600#, 800#, 1000#, 1200#, 1800# and 3500#. Select and order the required stages explicitly. The list is an availability range; it does not require every line or slab to run every grit.
Use the incoming surface to set the starting point
Identify the slab material and the finish left by the previous abrasive. A trial should follow the planned head positions while keeping the machine and water conditions recorded. Examine the surface after each important transition so that a scratch can be traced to the stage that introduced it.
